Board of Directors

Khalid Muhammad AlZubair is the current Chairman of the Board and the Nomination, Remuneration and Executive Committee of OMINVEST. Khalid is also the current Chairman of National Life and General Insurance Company SAOG.

Since 1991, Khalid has held a number of senior executive positions, including Managing Director of The Zubair Corporation LLC, a large diversified multinational conglomerate with operations across the GCC and beyond.

He has spearheaded several CSR initiatives, including the establishment of Zubair Small Enterprise Centre (Zubair SEC) that supports, nurtures and develops the abilities and skills of Omani entrepreneurs. Khalid remains deeply committed to CSR activities at OMINVEST.

Khalid has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona. He is also a graduate of the advanced transformative Owner / President Management Program (OPM) at Harvard Business School and has participated in advanced management programs at other elite institutions, including London Business School.

Khalid has held key positions in trade, business and sport bodies (including Chairman of the Oman Olympic Committee, member of the International Olympic Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry). His current positions include Chairman of Injaz Oman, a not-for-profit organisation that promotes entrepreneurship amongst students, and Honorary Chairman for the Arab Swimming Federation.

Sheikh Khalid Abdullah Al Khalili is the current Deputy Chairman of OMINVEST and a member of the Nomination, Remuneration and Executive Committee. Sheikh Khalid is also the Chairman of Bank Nizwa SAOG, Al Ahlia Insurance Company SAOG and a Director in Oman Telecommunications Company SAOG.

Sheikh Khalid has over 21 years of experience in various fields. He is a graduate in Civil Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology. He is the Chairman of “Aflag Group”, a diverse group of operating companies.

In the past he has held various senior management positions involving varied business disciplines which included finance, project management and real estate developments.

Engineer Jamal Shamis Al Hooti is a current member in the Board and the Chairman of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee of OMINVEST.

Engineer Jamal was the Chief Executive Officer of Oman Cement Company SAOG; one of the leading cement manufacturing companies in Oman. Engineer Jamal also held the position of Assistant Director General of Industry in the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and served on the Board of Directors of Oman Mining Company LLC and Oman Refinery Company, representing the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Gulf Stone SAOG. He is a graduate from the United States of America.

Brigadier Jamal Said Al Tai is a current member in the Board and Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee at OMINVEST. He is also a Board member in ROP Pension Fund, Oman National Investment & Development Co. SAOC (Tanmia) and Oman Automobile Association LLC.

Brigadier Jamal is also the Director General of Financial Affairs at Royal Oman Police and has over 25 years of experience. He is responsible for control, management and allocation of duties of the entire Centralized Financial Management System of the Royal Oman Police.

Brigadier Jamal holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Is the CEO of Injaz Oman, and a businesswoman with 18 years of corporate work experience, she has contributed to a number of initiatives to enable the private sector to play an active role as a social and economic partner in the development of the Sultanate, this was during her time as a member of ‘Sharaka’ the Public-Private Partnership under the Diwan of Royal Court. Khaula sits on several boards including The Royal Academy of Managment, Al Kawthar Fund (Tanmia) as well as NBO’s GCC Fund.

As a youth leader and an advocate for innovation and entrepreneurship, she has taken part in the design and planning of the Sultanate’s youth programs during her time as a member of the National Youth Commission, and played an active role representing youth in the National program for Enhancing Economic Diversification (Tanfeedh)

Najat Ali Al-Lawati is a current member in the Board and the Nomination, Remuneration and Executive Committee of OMINVEST. She also currently holds the position of Deputy General for Support Services at the Civil Service Employees Pension Fund.

Najat has over 25 years of hands-on experience in Pension Funds, Investment, Internal Audit, Human Resources, Information Technology, Statistics and Financial Accounting.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting from the University of Jordan.

Dr. Rashid Ali Al Balushi is a current member in the Board and the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee. He has 26 years of solid experience in investment and financial management of strategic projects and development of companies with solid leadership skills. He led many companies from start-up phases to incorporation, growth and divestment.

Dr. Rashid currently serves as the Partner and Chairman of Engineering Innovation Design and Consulting Office LLC, a specialised architectural and civil engineering design and supervision consulting office. Prior to this, he was the Managing Director of Iskan Oman Investment Company SAOC, a private equity investment company that was established in 2008. Earlier he was Chief Investment Officer in Oman Investment Corporation SAOC and before that he worked in Omantel as Head of Corporate Development.

After graduating from the University of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, his career began in 1994 at Muscat Municipality as a structural Engineer then he moved to Director of Projects and Maintenance.

Dr. Rashid has been elected to numerous Boards in various private and government entities. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, a Masters Degree in Construction Management and a Doctorate in Strategic Project Management. He is also a Professional Project Manager certified by the Project Management Institute.

Evangelos Papadopoulos is a current member in the Board and the Nomination, Remuneration and Executive Committee at OMINVEST. He currently the Head of Investments at AlManar Financial Investments SPC and has more than 10 years of experience in management consulting and finance.

Since 2019, Evangelos has been working as an investment professional responsible for establishing, implementing, and managing investment strategies in line with investment committee visions regarding asset allocation, risk thresholds and expected returns.

Following his tenure at Royal Group LLC as an investment manager, he joined the Omani investment firm AlManar Financial Investments SPC as Head of Investments. At his current role, he is responsible for all investments that are a combination of traditional asset classes and alternatives.

Evangelos holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Finance from Athens University of Economics and Business. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Cornell University.

Mr. Muhammad is an investment professional at East Lane Partners, a regional private equity investment manager, since 2020, working on transactions in several sectors such as healthcare, industrials, and technology.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Muhammad was an Analyst in the Private Equity team at NBK Capital Partners between 2018 and 2020. He worked on transactions in the Middle East and North Africa region in healthcare, food and beverage and technology businesses.

Prior to joining NBK Capital Partners in 2018, Mr. Muhammad worked as an Analyst at the Abraaj Group in the Middle East Private Equity team based in Dubai, where he focused on the education and healthcare sectors and the Credit team based in London, where he worked on transactions in oil and gas, and telecom sectors.

Mr. Muhammad is a director at National Finance Company since June 2020.

Mr. Muhammad holds a bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in accounting and a minor in Economics from Northeastern University in Boston.
