Mr
Abdul Kader Askalan, Chief
Executive Officer of Oman Arab Bank, Ominvest’s major banking subsidiary,
has been a Director of Ominvest since its inception in 1983. Commencing his
career as a Banker in 1957 with Arab Bank
plc, Jordan,
Mr Askalan occupied various positions in Arab Bank until 1984 when he was appointed General Manager of Oman Arab Bank saoc, a bank jointly owned by Ominvest and Arab Bank Ltd. Mr Askalan’s memberships in other organisations include, Member of the Board of Gulf Investment Corporation, Kuwait; Deputy Chairman of the Board of Oman Telecommunications Company; Member of the Board of College of Banking and Financial Studies; and, Deputy Chairman of the Banking & Investment Committee of the Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Mr Askalan is a member of the Executive Committee.
